Isuzu UK has named Welsh franchised retailer David Taylor Garages as its Dealer of the Year 2021 as it celebrated the “talent and expertise across its growing UK network” with a string of awards presentations.
Last week the 4×4 specialist brand revealed its plans to expand its UK retail network by 10 sites in 2021 as it prepared for growth resulting from the imminent launch of the new D-Max pick-up.
But before gathering momentum with the new addition to dealership, it handed out awards to high-achieving operators who topped 18 categories, recognising a wide range of services, from customer care and finance to accessory and fleet sales.
In what it described as “a close-run competition”, David Taylor Garages claimed its Dealer of the Year accolade in recognition of its high sales volumes, aftersales support and the significant investment made into the redevelopment of its premises over the past 12 months.
Warrington Vehicle Centre was named Fleet Dealer of the Year, York Van Centre triumphed as Accessories Dealer of the Year and Cross Keys of Leeds was awarded Customer Care Dealer of the Year.
Isuzu UK managing director, William Brown, said: “It’s important for us to acknowledge the huge effort and dedication of our dealer network, especially after such a challenging year.
“Many of our customers are key workers who provide essential services and our dealers resolved to help keep Britain working in 2020 by maintaining their vehicles so I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to all the nominated and winning dealers.”
Isuzu’s annual dealer awards follow recent virtual events hosted by BMW, Mini and Suzuki.
In addition to the Isuzu dealer awards, the Japanese pick-up brand gave honorary mentions to 16 new graduates of Isuzu’s ‘Pickup Professionals’ training programme.
James Williams, sales manager at Listers Group’s Worcester franchise, earned top marks upon completion of the course and was crowned Pick-Up Professional of the Year.
Brown added: “Recognising our dealers’ accomplishments is a positive way to start the year and 2021 looks to be particularly successful for Isuzu as we increase our dealer network coverage and launch the All-New Isuzu D-Max.”
