Belgian bike maker Zontes will release 5 products in India through its partnership with AARI, who also manage Benelli’s and Keeway’s operations here.
Zontes has entered into a partnership with Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI) for its Indian operations and has five products in its pipeline for the country. Founded in 2003, Zontes is a Belgian brand that is part of Guangdong Tayo Motorcycle Technology Pvt. Ltd.
Zontes: portfolio and India plans
Zontes has plans to release five products in our country, the details of which are yet to be revealed. AARI will distribute these products in India, just as it does for a few other foreign brands. Internationally, Zontes has a total of eight products in its portfolio, including, an ADV tourer, a cruiser and a sports tourer.
A few of Zontes’ international products could be of particular interest to the potential Indian customer. The brand has a 312cc platform that underpins a whole raft of models, including the 310R2 naked bike, the 312T2 ADV tourer, the 310V cruiser, as well as the 310X2 sports tourer. In all likelihood, most of these bikes will make their way to our shores. In Malaysia, these models retail for between RM 19,500 and RM 23,500 (between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 4.2 lakh). It remains to be seen at what price point Zontes launches their Indian product portfolio.
A teaser video released on Zontes’ Indian social media account shows a naked bike with a round headlight sporting ‘350’ badging. Nothing else has been revealed yet and we’ll have to wait for the manufacturer’s official statement regarding this.
Zontes says that to keep quality levels high, it manufactures 80 percent of its components in-house. Internationally, the brand claims to have a presence in 55 countries.
The keen-eyed amongst you will recognise that AARI is in charge of Benelli and Keeway’s operations in India. And adding to that list recently is Italian brand Moto Morini. Currently, AARI has more than 50 dealerships in the country.
