Speaking to Yamaha Motor India chairman Eishin Chihana who described Blue Square as a dealership where the focus would be on superior customer service as well as creating a premium ambience for all things Yamaha. Mumbai recently got its first Blue Square dealership with two more up and running as you read this.
Blue Square dealerships: Objectives
A Blue Square dealership in Yamaha-speak is a more premium dealership through which certain flagship models will be exclusively sold, official Yamaha apparel and accessories, as well as their other two-wheeled offerings. Currently, the Aerox maxi-sport scooter and the MotoGP replica paint scheme option on the R15 V4 are the only two Blue Square exclusive models in India.
The Blue Square dealer model, while still in its nascent stages in our country, is something that will be the norm going forward for all Yamaha dealerships in the nation. Plans are afoot to ensure that in approximately three years’ time, all Yamaha dealerships across the nation are converted into Blue Square ones.
The company plans to have just one format of dealerships in the future through which all products will be sold. When Yamaha does launch its first EVs, they will all be retailed side-by-side alongside the existing lineup of small-capacity two-wheelers in Blue Square dealerships.
