Waylands is opening its first multi-marque dedicated electric vehicle sales centre, Waylands E, at Newbury in Berkshire.
The steadily growing dealer group, headed by chief executive John O-Hanlon, is launching opened Waylands E beside its new MG dealership on Newbury Motor Park.
Waylands E will offer many marques and models led by a team of EV specialists to assist customers with their mission to get into zero emissions and low emissions motoring, whether buying new or used vehicles.
O’Hanlon said: “We are delighted to not only be increasing our MG presence but further expanding our EV offering too. Waylands E will be our first multi-franchise EV centre which will further support us in our mission to net zero whilst more customers make the transition to hybrid and electric vehicles.
“Newbury presents a great opportunity for both MG and an additional EV presence and we are delighted to be opening the doors on 15th August.”
Waylands has for some time supported the transition to EV in its franchised operations, having attained the NFDA EVA accreditation in a number of its sites and being named the NFDA Green dealer of the year 2022 with investment exceeding £1.0m in charging infrastructure already committed.
The addition will further cement the Group’s pledge to drive sustainable motoring and opening the used electric and hybrid vehicle market to many customers for the first time.
Waylands, which also represents Volvo and Kia across the Thames Valley in Reading, Oxford, Swindon and Bristol, won the NFDA Green Dealer Award 2022 earlier this year in recognition of the efforts and investment made by the dealer group to embrace and drive forward the transition to zero emissions.
This latest expansion comes just two months after it grew through the acquisition of Grovebury Cars’ Kia UK dealership in Bicester.
