The Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport and GT Line get a range of cosmetic updates, including chrome delete, GT badging, and an all-black interior.

Volkswagen has extended the Taigun range with the introduction of two new trim levels. Known as the Taigun GT Plus Sport and Taigun GT Line, the new trims are available with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines respectively. The two trims feature a range of visual enhancements over the standard Taigun that help them stand out.

On the outside, the Taigun GT Plus Sport gets smoked LED headlamps, Carbon Steel Grey roof, red GT branding on the grille, fender, and rear profile, dark chrome door handles, and red brake calipers. The SUV has also gotten a chrome delete treatment, with the front grille, diffuser, wing mirrors, alloy wheels, and fender badges all now covered in glossy black.

 

 

 

Inside the cabin, the GT Plus Sport variant features an all-black theme that includes black leatherette upholstery with red stitching, black headliner, and glossy black inserts on the dash. The red stitching can also be seen on the steering wheel, while there’s a GT logo on the front seats.  The Taigun GT Line misses out on the red brake calipers, red GT badge on the grille, but gets a GT Line badge on the doors instead.

 

Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport, GT Line powertrains

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport is available with the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, putting out 150hp and 250 Nm, while the Taigun GT Line is reserved for the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 115hp and 178Nm torque. Transmission options on the GT Plus Sport trim include 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch auto, while the GT Line trim can be had with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic.
