We’ve spotted an updated iteration of the Jawa Forty Two testing and it features some notable differences in comparison to the current model.

New Jawa Forty Two: What’s different?
The most significant difference is that the test mule is sporting alloy wheels, and not wire-spoked ones, like on the existing bike. The switch will also very likely enable the bike to be equipped with tubeless tyres.
The overall design of the bike has received no apparent changes, but components like the front and rear suspension, the trim around the headlight and the exhaust have ditched their chrome finish for a blacked-out theme. The stitching on the seat is different as well, and this particular test mule is also sporting a grab rail and flyscreen. It remains to be seen whether these will come as standard accessories or aftermarket parts.
If you look closely, you’ll see a little reservoir where the rear suspension is mounted onto the frame.
New Jawa Forty Two: What remains the same?
Visually, there appears to be no changes made to the engine and we expect this model to be powered by the same BS6-compliant 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 26.5hp and 27Nm of torque.
Apart from the blacked-out theme, all the other hardware components appear to be carried over from the existing model.
New Jawa Forty Two launch and pricing
Considering that this test mule looks like a production-ready variant, we expect an official launch in the near future. We’ll have to wait and see if this alloy-wheel equipped, blacked-out theme will replace the existing Jawa Forty Two, or if it’ll be available as an additional variant. The current BS6 model is priced at Rs 1.65 lakh for the single-channel ABS model and Rs 1.74 lakh for the dual-channel ABS variant. This upcoming bike will likely be priced on-par, or slightly above the current price range.
