These new Street Triple bikes are a comprehensive step up over the previous models.

The launch of the 2023 Triumph Street Triple lineup has been delayed by quite a few months in India, but now it appears that the bikes will soon be making their Indian debut. Sources have led us to believe that prices will be around the Rs 10 – Rs 10.30 lakh mark for the R variant and around the Rs 11.60 – Rs 12.00 mark for the RS variant. That marks a price increase of between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh, depending on the variant.

The updated Triumph Street Triple R’s liquid-cooled, 765cc three-cylinder engine makes 120hp while, in the Street Triple RS, this motor develops 130hp. Power has gone up by 2hp on the R and 7hp on the RS. Peak torque at 80Nm is the same on both. Both variants also get an up/down quickshifter as standard on the 6-speed gearbox.

Moving to the electronics, the bike finally gets IMU-assisted cornering ABS and traction control. The Street Triple R now features four ride modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Rider (fully configurable). The RS, on the other hand, has an additional Track mode. All the settings for the electronics can be accessed via a 5-inch, colour TFT display on the RS, while the R makes do with a more basic, LCD display. The chassis on this new bike has been comprehensively revised and to read more about how the bikes fared on track and on the road, click here.
