2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift: What to expect on India-spec MPV?
Earlier this year, Toyota updated the Innova Crysta’s engine line-up to comply with the stringent BS6 norms. This means that the upcoming update for Toyota’s popular MPV will not likely see any mechanical changes. The cosmetic updates, meanwhile, will be more in line with the model seen overseas.
The Innova Crysta facelift for India will likely carry forward the existing 150hp, 2.4-litre diesel and 166hp, 2.7-litre petrol engine options; both engines can currently be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. While most of the body panels remain the same, the new Innova Crysta gets a slightly lager grille with a thick chrome surround and more slats than before. Additionally, the front bumper has sharper looks, along with a blacked-out chin and a silver faux skid plate. The fog lamp enclosures have a new design and get black surround. Diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels could be part of the package as well in India. At the back, the updated Innova Crysta comes with a black hexagonal panel that sits between the tail-lights and extends as far down as the number plate slot.
On the inside, the updated Innova Crysta will get a new instrument cluster in most variants.
