The brand achieved 1 million production milestone in 2004.

Tata Motors has announced that it has produced five million passenger vehicles. Tata Motors started building passenger vehicles back in 1991, and their first model was the Sierra, followed by the Estate and Sumo in 1994. Since then, the brand has introduced multiple models, including the Indica, which has been one of the most popular Tata passenger vehicles.

Tata Motors achieved the 1 million production mark in 2004, the second million in 2010 and reached the 3 million mark in 2015, and rolled out its 4 millionth car in 2020. The brand was able to stride ahead from 4 million cars to the 5 million within three years since 1998.

Commenting on this historic milestone, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility said, “Today marks a celebratory moment in the history of Tata Motors as we celebrate our 5-million production mark milestone. Tata Motors passenger car line-up 2023 and beyond

Tata Motors currently has one of the biggest car and SUV line-ups in the country. The range starts from the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz and also SUVs like the Nexon, Harrier and Safari. The brand also has a wide EV portfolio withal electric iterations of the Nexon, Tiago and the Tigor.  The brand will also introduce the all-new Sierra and the Curvv SUV, both models along with the Harrier EV were showcased in close to production form at the last Auto Expo 2023.
