It will be offered as an optional accessory, unlike on the Super Meteor 650 where it is standard fitment.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will both receive the Tripper navigation pod soon. However, unlike on the Super Meteor 650 where the Tripper is standard fitment, here it will be offered as an optional accessory.
- Likely to cost Rs 5,000
- Will sit between the twin-pod instruments
- LED indicators to also be offered
Both the older 650cc models recently received a number of standard updates, including alloy wheels on certain variants, new switchgear and LED headlights. Now, the accessories catalogue is also going to be updated. In addition to the incoming Tripper navigation pod, RE is also going to offer LED indicators as optional extras on the Interceptor and Continental.
The Tripper will merely be an add-on, and the rest of the instrumentation will remain unaffected when you option the navigation pod. You will still get the twin-pod speedo and tacho setup, with the Tripper nestled between the two. It isn’t the most cohesive design, but there is a nice theme there, with three circular pods, all featuring chrome rims.
One thing that isn’t clear at the moment is whether it will be possible to retrofit the Tripper pod onto earlier Interceptors and Continentals.
If you had to buy one of the RE 650 twins, would you get it with a Tripper, or would that go against the retro theme? Tell us in the comments below.
