Inside, the Velar gets a new dashboard design that brings it in line with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The highlight is the new 11.4-inch curved touchscreen running Land Rover’s Pivi Pro system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The terrain response system can now be accessed through the touchscreen.

The centre console has a cleaner design with far fewer buttons than before and no secondary screen or dials for the HVAC controls. The centre console also gets a new stowage space that houses the wireless charger. The rotary drive selector has been replaced with a more conventional-looking lever.

Under the hood, the Range Rover Velar facelift gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 250hp and 365Nm of torque. This powertrain has a claimed top speed of 217kph and can do the 0-100kph run in a claimed 7.5 seconds.

The other powertrain on offer is a 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to a mild-hybrid system that produces 204hp and 430Nm of torque. This has a claimed top speed of 210kph and can manage the 0-100kph run in a claimed 8.3 seconds.

Being a Land Rover, the Range Rover Velar facelift has a water-wading depth of 580mm. Land Rover has also equipped it with an air suspension that has an ‘Elegant Arrival’ mode that reduces the ride height by 40mm when entering and exiting the vehicle.
