Amba currently serves as the vice president of Sales, Marketing and Customer Care at Tata Motors.
Jaguar Land Rover India has appointed Rajan Amba as its managing director, with effect from March 1, 2023. He will move to the new position from Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, where currently he is the vice president of Sales, Marketing and Customer Care.
Amba has previously worked with brands such as Titan, Nike And Levi Strauss. At JLR India, he succeeds Rohit Suri, who is due to retire on March 31, 2023. Suri took over as the managing director of Jaguar Land Rover 14 years ago when the British luxury car brand made its debut in India.
Martin Limpert, Jaguar Land Rover’s regional director – Overseas, said, “Rajan’s customer-centric mindset, broad experiences from different industries, and his passionate and authentic leadership approach, bring the right set of qualities to further grow our operations into the promising future of India, aligned with our overall Reimagine strategy to become the creator of the world’s most desirable luxury vehicles and services for the most discerning of customers.”
Commenting on his appointment, Amba said, “I keenly look forward to working with my new team at Jaguar Land Rover India and steering forward our future growth strategy.”
Jaguar Land Rover in India
Jaguar currently has a four-car portfolio in India, including models like the F-Pace SUV, XF sedan, I-Pace all-electric SUV and the F-Type sportscar. Land Rover, on the other hand, has seven models in its portfolio, including the Discovery Sport, Discovery, Defender, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and the flagship Range Rover.
