Perrys opens MG Motor UK’s 28th new car dealership in 12 months

Perrys Motor Sales has opened a new MG Motor UK dealership in Aylesbury, taking the brand’s network growth to 28th locations in just 12 months.

The AM100 car retail group added to its recently-opened MG showrooms in Preston and Huddersfield with the opening of the new facility on Griffin Lane, Bicester Road, Aylesbury, this week.

Its expansion with the brand follows a 41% increase in registrations for the brand in 2020 (to 18,415) – in a COVID-impacted market down by 29.4% – and 50.8% growth (to 8,307) year-to-date to the end of April.

“The brand is also one of the fastest-growing electric car brands in the UK and is a perfect fit for our portfolio.”

At the start of 2021 MG Motor revealed that it was aiming to increase its network to 130 dealers by the end of the year.

In a statement issued this morning (May 25) the brand revealed that it had seen 28 new sites join its network in the past 12 months.

Earlier this month Drive Motor Retail boosted MG’s network growth with the opening of new MG dealerships in Leicester, Bristol and Darlington.

The growing popularity of the MG brand is built around a six-model range which includes three plug-in cars – the MG ZS EV, MG5 EV and MG HS PHEV.

MG Motor’s commercial director, Guy Pigounakis, said: “As the UK’s fastest-developing car brand, the appointment of Perrys in Aylesbury will really help us grow our presence in the Home Counties, via a trusted independent dealer group that is already well-established in the region.
