Nissan has just launched a new subscription service for its India range, in partnership with Orix. The carmaker is calling this service – the ‘Nissan Intelligent Ownership Subscription Plan’. It hopes this new subscription service will draw in more young customers, given that it reduces certain cost.
- Customer can subscribe to the Nissan Magnite, Kicks and Datsun Redigo
- The service is currently available in Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Chennai
- It will also expand Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru soon
- Monthly fee is inclusive of insurance, service and maintenance costs
As things stand, Nissan will be offering this service in three major cities across India, including Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Chennai. Though, the carmaker does plan to expand the availability of this service to Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru very soon.
Nissan Intelligent Ownership Subscription Plan: what is it?
As the name suggests, it is a service that allows customers to own any Nissan model by subscribing to it and not having to purchase it outright. This subscription plan will require the customer to pay a nominal, refundable security deposit as well as a fixed monthly fee for a pre-selected tenure.
Once the customer has paid the above amount, there are practically no other costs he/she faces apart from its basic running. This is down to the fact that the subscription plan comes with zero down payment, zero service costs and zero insurance costs. Meaning, it covers the car’s insurance, registration fee, road tax, RTO expenses and all maintenance costs, including scheduled and unscheduled repairs, tire and battery replacement. Nissan also offers it with free 24×7 roadside assistance.
Another highlight of this subscription plan is that the customers can decide whether they want a car with a white plate (private registration) or black plate (commercial registration).
Nissan Intelligent Ownership Subscription Plan: available cars
Currently, Nissan customers can subscribe to either the Magnite compact SUV and Kicks midsize SUV. Additionally, this subscription model also permits customers to select models from Nissan’s sister brand – Datsun – though for the time-being only the Redigo is available.
Other carmakers that offer subscription services
As you would expect, Nissan is not the only automotive brand in India to offer a subscription service for its cars. Carmakers like Hyundai, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, MG, Tata and Toyota have been offering leasing and subscription services, since as far back as 2019.
