Suzuki has unveiled details of its new S-Cross SUV ahead of its arrival in UK car dealerships in January 2022.

The new model benefits from 48V mild hybrid technology to deliver CO2 emissions from 120g/km and 52.3mpg combined fuel economy (in two-wheel-drive guise) and will be priced from £24,999.

News of the new model comes in a week in which AM featured an exclusive interview with Suzuki GB head of automobile, Dale Wyatt, about efforts to mitigate against the impact of the semiconductor shortage.

He revealed that dealers and customers would soon benefit from an influx of models after he was able to source infotainment systems for vehicles imported to the UK without factory-fitted units.

Despite the initiative, Wyatt said supplies would remain tight in the first half of next year. He said: “We’ll be running at half power for the first half of next year.”

Dual Sensor Brake Support automated braking, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Cruise Control included as standard on all versions.

Also standard is infotainment featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone link, keyless entry and start, dual-zone auto air conditioning, heated front seats, front and rear parking sensors.

Built at the Magyar Suzuki plant in Hungary, which also produces Vitara models for European market, the new S-Cross features a piano black front grille and new design three LED position headlamps.

Larger rear light clusters, roof rails and an integrated rear spoiler are also among the key styling features.
