Hyundai is now accepting orders for the new Santa Fe, which is available with hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engines only.
It is based on a new platform and promises improved performance, efficiency and safety over the outgoing model.
Prices start at £40,250, rising to £49,010 for the range-topping model.
The Santa Fe is powered by a 1.6 litre T-GDi engine, offered with either a 230PS Hybrid or a 265PS Plug-in Hybrid option. The Hybrid model has CO2 emissions from 145g/km, while the Plug-in Hybrid emits 37g/km and has a zero-emission range of 36 miles.
All versions come with a high level of standard equipment. The Premium trim offers 17-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlamps, electrically adjustable front seats, heated front and rear seats, dual zone climate control and heated steering wheel.
It also comes with adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and and electric tailgate with hands free operation.
The Ultimate trim adds a surround view monitor parking system with parking collision avoidance assist, remote smart parking assist, 12.3-inch full TFT drivers instrument cluster, head up display, blind spot view monitor and highway drive assist.
An optional Luxury Pack includes Nappa leather trim, suede headliner, brushed aluminium centre console accents and a faux leather wrapped dashboard.
Hyundai says the new car’s interior provides more space, comfort, and convenience compared to the previous model. There is an increase in the number of premium soft-touch materials, and it features a new lower dashboard design, a redesigned centre console and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen.
Vehicle stability and handling is improved by more effective weight distribution, which lowers the centre of gravity. Aerodynamics have also been improved so that air resistance is minimised to deliver improved fuel efficiency, power and driving performance.
All versions have seven seats and offer a boot capcity of 571 litres.
