Mini India has launched the Charged Edition of the Cooper SE EV at Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom, India), Rs 1.5 lakh more than the standard model. Offered as a completely built unit (CBU), the Charged Edition will be limited to just 20 units.

Mini Cooper SE Charged Edition exterior changes
The Charged Edition is only offered Chili Red colour option with a white roof, wing mirrors and exterior trims – light surrounds, handles and logos. It also gets matte red stripes on the bonnet, tailgate and doors accentuated by yellow stripes. The 17-inch alloy wheels with yellow accents have been carried over from the standard Mini Cooper SE.
Mini Cooper SE Charged Edition interior, features
The interior as well as the features list has been carried over unchanged from the standard Cooper SE. It continues with an all-black interior with yellow accents, an 8.8-inch touchscreen, a 5.5-inch digital instruments cluster. The Charged Edition also gets multiple toggle switches and media controls in the same circular unit that also houses the touchscreen.
Mini Cooper SE Charged Edition powertrains
Powering the Charged Edition is an electric motor that produces 184hp and 270Nm of torque, drawing power from a 32.6kWh battery. Power is sent to the front wheels that help it do a 0-100kph run in 7.3 seconds and give it a top speed of 150kph.
Mini claims the Cooper SE has a WLTP-certified range of up to 270km. It is capable of charging from 0-80 percent in 36 minutes via a 50kW DC fast charger. With an 11kW wallbox charger (provided as standard), the Cooper SE can be charged from 0-80 percent in 2 hours and 30 minutes, and it takes 9 hours 43 minutes (claimed) using a 2.3kW charger.
Mini Cooper SE rivals
The Cooper SE sits in a niche of its own without any direct rivals in the market. In terms of price, it will go up against the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Rs 44.95 lakh), the Volvo XC40 Recharge (Rs 56.90) lakh and the Kia EV6 (Rs 60.95 lakh – 65.95 lakh).
