Special Editions are a part of the brand’s century celebrations; remain mechanically unchanged.
MG India has released special editions of its model lineup to celebrate 100 years of the brand’s existence. The special editions are offered only on the Hector, ZS EV, Astor and Comet, with the Gloster missing out and while the brand has called it a limited edition, they have not mentioned how many units it will be limited to.

MG 100-year celebration edition changes
On the outside, the special editions get green paint that is a homage to the classic ‘British Racing Green’, however, MG has called it Evergreen. The editions also get badges on the rear that signify it is a special edition. The interior gets an all-black look, with green highlights and ‘100-Year Limited Edition’ embroidered onto the front headrests. The infotainment units also get a green theme colour to complement the exterior.
MG powertrains and price
The changes to the special editions are purely cosmetic and the vehicles remain unchanged under the skin. The MG Astor has two engine options, a 110hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 140hp, 140hp turbo-petrol engine. The Astor is priced from Rs 9.98 lakh – Rs 17.90 lakh. The MG Hector is available in 5, 6 and 7-seater options and prices for the SUV range from Rs 13.99 lakh – to Rs 22.76 lakh. The Hector is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 143hp and a 2.0-litre diesel mill producing 170hp.

The MG ZS EV is available with a 50.3 kWh battery that has a claimed range of 461km. Prices for the electric SUV range from Rs 18.98 to Rs 25.2 lakh. The smaller 2-door MG Comet is available with a smaller 17.3kwh battery that promises a range of 230km. Prices for the EV range from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.24 lakh.
