New Maybach GLS 600 and AMG S 63 4Matic+ are both expected to be priced upwards of Rs 3 crore.
Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the new Maybach GLS 600 and the AMG S 63 4MATIC E Performance in the country on May 22. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 gets a mild makeover over the current model sold here in India, while the AMG S 63 is returning to the country in a new avatar.

New Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600: specs, features
The updated Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 retains the iconic vertical chrome slats in the grille – which is slightly larger than before. The front bumper has been redesigned, while the headlamps and tail lamps also have new LED patterns. The 22-inch wheels on the India-spec model will also feature a new design.
The overall cabin layout will be carried over, however, the steering wheel will feature a new design. The new Maybach GLS 600 will also carry over all the feel-good features such as the Manufaktur leather interior, a dual-screen display, rear infotainment screens, a 27-speaker Burmester sound system, ambient lighting and much more.
The 2024 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 will likely continue to be offered with the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine with a 48V starter-generator integrated into the nine-speed automatic gearbox. This engine produces 557hp and 730Nm of torque, and an additional 22hp and 250Nm come via the 48-volt electric drive.
New Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance: specs, features
The new AMG S 63 gets an updated version of the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine used by its predecessor, and it also adopts a rear-axle-mounted asynchronous electric motor and a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery. The result is a combined power output of 802hp and a massive 1,430Nm peak torque, making it the most powerful S-Class ever.
Thanks to the motor and battery pack, the new S 63 has an electric-only range of 33km. It also comes equipped with AMG Ride Control+ suspension with air springs and variable damping control that provides automatic self-levelling and an automatic lowering function at speeds above 80mph for added aerodynamic efficiency. In addition, it gets AMG Active Ride Control stabilisation with electromechanical anti-roll bars as well as rear-axle steering of up to 2.5deg.
Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, AMG S 63 E Performance: expected price
The existing Maybach GLS 600 is priced at Rs 2.96 crore, and the updated version is expected to be priced north of the Rs 3 crore mark owing to the changes. The AMG S 63 4MATIC+ E Performance could carry a price tag of around Rs 3-3.5 crore. Both the cars will be brought to the country through the CBU route.
