Mercedes-Benz seems to be planning to extend the product life cycle of the GLS Maybach flagship SUV, which debuted in 2019 and got its first update in 2023. The latest spy shots shared by our friends at Motor.es now preview another facelift for the SUV ahead of its launch in 2026.
- Second facelift for Maybach GLS likely to be cosmetic only
- Exterior and interior tweaks, more equipment expected
Mercedes Maybach GLS facelift: what do the spy shots reveal?
Like the GLS facelift which was spied on test recently, the GLS Maybach has a heavily covered front and back. While details are limited, it’s confirmed that the SUV is going to get slimmer but more pronounced headlamp units that will merge with a mildly reshaped grille. The grille’s outlines will connect with the new headlamp clusters. The front bumper will sport a new air dam design with chrome bits, additional creases, and a slightly taller profile. The LED signatures on the front bumper and headlamp will also receive subtle design updates.
There won’t be major changes to the sides, except for a new design for the alloy wheels. At the back, the bumper gets a new look with a wider chrome band. No changes to the tailgate design are expected but the tail lamps will get new graphics, likely resembling those on the new E-Class and EQS facelifts
The Maybach GLS facelift will get interior tweaks and possibly larger screens. There are talks of another screen being added on the dashboard for the front passenger. No mechanical changes are forecast to be seen on this facelift.
In India, the SUV recently got its second facelift, and the updated version seen in these spy shots is expected to arrive by 2026.
