Mercedes EQE 500 SUV price, range, features, performance and design

For India, the SUV gets the 56-inch hyperscreen dashboard and the off-road package as standard.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQE 500 4matic SUV in India at Rs 1.39 crore. The brand has not brought the more powerful AMG-spec EQE SUVs to the country but instead opted to bring only the top-spec model. The EQE 500 is the third electric car for Mercedes in India after the EQB SUV and the EQS sedan.

Mercedes Benz EQE 500 design and interior 

The Mercedes EQE SUV carries over the styling of the brand’s other electric vehicles with sleek lines and clean curves along the body. Functional styling cues that are carried over from other electric vehicles are aerodynamic wheels and a sealed-off front grille.  

The EQE SUV comes with 20-inch wheels and air suspension that can raise the ride height of the SUV by 25 mm. The EQE SUV is a large vehicle with a length of 4,863mm, a height of 1,685mm, and a wheelbase of 3,030 mm.

On the inside, the EQE 500 SUV comes with the brand’s 56-inch ‘Hyperscreen’ dashboard as standard. This consists of three screens on the dashboard that are all connected by thick tempered glass. The screens can display information in the case of the driver’s display and can also be used for entertainment as with the passenger display and central infotainment unit.
 

Mercedes EQE 500 SUV powertrain, range and battery

The Mercedes EQE 500 SUV comes equipped with a dual motor, all-wheel drive setup and includes an off-road package as standard. The SUV gets a 90.56kWh battery, which has a claimed WLTP range of 550km and can support up to 170kW of DC fast charging. The SUV produces 408hp and 858Nm, which allows it to accelerate from 0-100 kph in a claimed time of 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h. 

Mercedes EQE 500 SUV rivals and price

Although marginally expensive, the Mercedes EQE SUV will be sold in India as a CBU and rivals other luxury electric SUVs like the newly launched  Audi Q8 e-tron (Rs 1.14 crore-1.26 crore), the BMW iX (Rs 1.21 crore), and the Jaguar I-Pace (Rs 1.20 crore).
