The Suzuki Jimny in Australia has received a special ‘Heritage’ edition, limited to just 500 units. Suzuki says that the Jimny XL Heritage pays homage to the off-roader’s 4×4 history from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Suzuki Jimny XL Heritage edition: What’s new?

For the uninitiated, the five-door Jimny is sold in Australia as Jimny XL. This time around, the new Heritage edition is available on the Jimny XL, while the three-door Jimny had received the special edition back in March last year.

The changes include special decals on the body with Heritage logo, a unique cargo tray and red mud flaps. The Jimny XL Heritage is available in White, Chiffon Ivory with Bluish Black Pearl roof, Jungle Green, Bluish Black Pearl and Granite Grey Metallic colour options.

Suzuki Jimny XL: specs, features, price

The five-door Jimny is built in India and exported to the Australian market. The Australian-spec model is available with the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine as the one sold here in India. However, it is tuned slightly differently to produce 100hp and 130Nm of torque, which is 5hp and 4Nm less than the India-spec model. The Jimny XL Heritage edition is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission, while Suzuki also offers the SUV with a 4-speed torque converter automatic.

The Jimny XL is offered with features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, auto climate control, six airbags, LED headlights and so on. Over the India-spec model, the Jimny XL gets an ADAS suite with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) as standard to essentially comply with local safety norms.
