Upon launch, the XUV300 facelift could be the first compact SUV in India with this feature.
We have already reported to you that Mahindra is working on a facelift of the XUV300 compact SUV, slated for a market launch next year. We have now learnt that Mahindra is planning to equip the updated XUV300 with a panoramic sunroof, which means it could be the first in its segment with this feature.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift: panoramic sunroof, more features
The obsession with sunroofs among vehicle buyers in India is no secret. In fact, across segments, buyers are majorly known to opt for top-spec variants that come equipped with sunroofs. And while the current XUV300 already gets the single-pane unit, Mahindra plans to take things a notch higher with a panoramic unit with the facelift that’s due next year.
Although a few other compact SUVs such as the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet are also due a mid-lifecycle update before that, it’s unlikely that any of the XUV300’s rivals will get this feature, so the XUV300 could be the first in its segment with a panoramic sunroof.
Eventually, even the all-electric XUV400 will get a panoramic sunroof, but that will arrive much later, likely with its next update that’s expected sometime in 2025. Sources tell us that the brand’s idea is to make panoramic sunroofs available in the entire XUV range of SUVs.
This aside, the XUV300 facelift will come with majorly revised front and rear profiles with new headlamps and tail lamps and all new bumpers, likely drawing design cues from the XUV.e concepts. The interior is also expected to get a major overhaul with lots more features as the cabin in the current XUV300 has now started to show its age, and even lacks many features now offered by rivals.
Mahindra XUV300 to remain mechanically unchanged
Under the hood, the XUV300 facelift is expected to continue with its existing 110hp and 131hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol units, as well as the 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. It remains to be seen if Mahindra carries forward the gearbox options unchanged or if the AMT is replaced by a torque converter – most of its rivals offer more sophisticated automatic transmissions.

The XUV300 facelift is expected to launch sometime next year, and will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Maruti Brezza among others. With all these updates, expect a notable step up in prices as well. For reference, the XUV300 is currently priced between Rs 8.42 – 14.60 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
