Mahindra Scorpio Classic: price, variants, features, seating configurations

Although limited in trims and powertrain options, the Scorpio Classic gets as many as three seating configurations.

Mahindra recently launched the new Scorpio Classic as a rebranded version of the second-gen Scorpio. It will be sold alongside the new Scorpio N, with both models catering to different target audiences. Mahindra, however, has severely trimmed the number of variants on the new Scorpio Classic, meaning it is now available with only a diesel engine and in two trims. We take a closer look at the variant-wise features list on the new Scorpio Classic.

  • Scorpio Classic comes in two 7-seat and one 9-seat layout
  • Powered by a sole 132hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine

Mahindra Scorpio Classic: 2 trims, 6 variants

The Scorpio Classic is available in just two trims, a bare-bones S and a fully-loaded S11, and with one powertrain – a 132hp, 2,2-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The automatic gearbox option and the 4×4 system that were previously available on the Scorpio are no longer on offer.

Mahindra is, however, offering multiple seating configurations with the new Scorpio Classic. It can be had in either two 7-seater configurations or as a 9-seater. The 7-seater configurations include a 2-2-3 seating layout, with captain’s seats in the second row and a bench seat in the third, and a 2-3-2 layout that has a bench seat in the middle and two single jump seats in the third row. As for the 9-seater, it comes with a 2-3-4 layout with double side-facing jump seats for the third row. All three seating configurations are available on both trims.
