The new variants make do without a 360-degree camera and the Bose sound system to help reduce the waiting period.
Kia India has added two more variants to the recently launched Seltos facelift – the GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S) priced at Rs 19.39 lakh and Rs 19.59 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
- Seltos currently has around four months waiting period
- New variants to have around two months waiting
- High waiting due to supply chain constraints
New Seltos variants will have lesser waiting period
The Kia Seltos has been gathering a lot of interest, with bookings recently crossing the 50,000 mark. The waiting period, too, has increased correspondingly and now stands at around four months. One of the key reasons for this has been the constant supply chain constraints of components like the 360-degree camera and the Bose sound system, which is offered in the higher trims.
The new variants do not come with these two features and are positioned between the top-spec Seltos GTX+ and X-Line variants. However, Kia continues to offer features like ADAS, dual infotainment screens, 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, and an electronic parking brake. Kia India says that the Seltos GTX+ (S) and the Seltos X-Line (S) will have a waiting period of around two months.
The GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S) trims will come with either a 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT or a 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed torque converter.
The Seltos’ key rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. The segment’s bestseller, the Creta, will get a major update early next year, and is expected to get fresh looks and more features.
