All Kia certified used cars will undergo a 175 point quality check and will be less than 5 years old.
Kia has commenced its Certified Pre-Owned – Kia CPO – used car business in India, which will engage in buying, selling and exchange of used cars. The Korean carmaker has officially entered the used car business a little over three years after it began its operations in India, and Kia says it makes it the fastest car brand in the country to do so.
- Kia CPO offers 2 years or 40,000km warranty
- Will also sell non-Kia models
Cars sold through Kia CPO outlets will get up to 2 years or 40,000km warranty and up to four free periodic maintenance services. Through the CPO outlets, customers can also exchange any used car with a new Kia model. Myung-sik Sohn, chief sales officer, Kia India, said, “We’ve noticed that more than one-third customers of new Kia cars are replacement buyers, and we aim to facilitate them through our certified pre-owned car business.”
All the certified Kia models sold through Kia CPO will be under 5 years old with an odometer running of less than 1,00,000km. Additionally, the cars will also undergo a 175-point quality check before being handed over to the customers. Moreover, Kia will ensure that there is no structural damage and there is verified ownership and history of the vehicle available. Non-Kia cars will also be sold in their existing condition.
Kia already has 15 outlets in 14 cities, and the carmaker is planning for more than 30 outlets by the end of this year.
Rivals brands like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Honda and Volkswagen, too, have dedicated used car programmes. Recently, Toyota also launched a dedicated used car outlet in Bengaluru.
