Kia Carnival Hi Limousine 4 seater: interior and equipment
The Carnival Hi Limousine 4-seater has been optimised for extraordinary levels of comfort and offers oodles of space and adjustments. The biggest highlights are, of course, the two large aircraft-style seats for the second row that come draped in three-dimensional, quilted nappa leather and are equipped with top-quality seat material. Typical to most limousine seats, these also come with an extended leg support.
These seats feature what Kia calls the ‘Premium Relaxation Seat’ function, which helps distribute the load on the hips and back and helps to relax comfortably. Both these seats can be individually operated and even come with their own dedicated tray tables. There’s also a side armrest for both seats, with a console housing a wireless charging pad and heated/cooled cup holders.
To control the various seat functions, a 7.0-inch touch display has been provided, which is integrated on the central armrest console. The screen can also be used to control other functions, such as the air conditioning, the rear seat lighting, a 21.5-inch smart monitor mounted on the ceiling or even a foot massager located behind the front passenger seat.
Kia says that it has specifically developed this foot massager in collaboration with Hu-Tech, a healthcare company, to provide a relaxing experience to the passengers. Other nifty features on the interior of the Carnival Hi Limousine 4-seater include a cold-hot cabinet that can store beverages of various sizes and a rear seat storage box that can be used to store items such as shoes, umbrellas, etc. In the boot area, space has been optimised with ceiling-mounted hanger and storage boxes under the floor.
Kia Carnival Hi Limousine 4 seater: engine, powertrain and suspension details
Under the hood, the Carnival Hi Limousine 4-seater is solely offered with a 3.5-litre SmartStream V6 petrol engine that produces 290hp and 355Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending drive to the front wheels only.
What’s important to note here is that the Carnival Hi Limousine 4-seater comes with retuned suspension over the standard model, which, according to Kia, offers a plush ride quality.
New-gen Kia Carnival: India launch plans
Kia currently has no plans of bringing the fourth-generation Carnival to India anytime soon. In India, we currently have the third-generation model on sale, which was only introduced in February last year. The company, however, will introduce an all-new MPV in India early next year that will be positioned between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Innova Crysta in our market.
