IARC Autocross and Gymkhana details

For those unfamiliar with the concept, rather than an outright race, an Autocross is a timed competition requiring drivers to navigate their way through a predetermined obstacle course. The goal is to complete the course in the fastest possible time.

While the Gymkhana may be similar, it further tests the drivers’ skill and ability by requiring participants to perform choreographed manoeuvres, like 360-degree spins, J-Turns, box parking, among other things. This too, is held through a short, timed loop.

The competition will be divided into eight classes:

  1. Class 1 Stock: 2-wheel drive (up to 1,400cc)
  2. Class 2 Stock: 2-wheel drive (Over 1,400cc – up to 1,650cc)
  3. Class 3 Stock: 2-wheel drive (Over 1,650cc)
  4. Class 4 Open: 2-wheel drive (Up to 1,400cc)
  5. Class 5 Open: 2-wheel drive (Over 1,400cc – up to 1,650cc)
  6. Class 6 Open: 2-wheel drive (Over 1,650cc)
  7. Class 7: 2-wheel drive (Unrestricted Open)
