Hyundai Venue Knight Edition: what’s new

There are no mechanical changes made to the Venue Knight edition, just cosmetic changes with added features. On the outside, the Venue gets blacked-out elements that include the front grille,  roof rails, alloy wheels, wing mirrors and even the front and rear skid plates. To make the paint scheme stand out, the company has also added brass-coloured elements on inserts like the bumpers, alloy wheels and roof rails with red front brake callipers. Logos all over the car get a ‘dark chrome’ treatment and the car gets a Knight Emblem, like present on the same edition of the Creta.

The Knight edition of the Venue is available with a choice of 4 monotone colours black, white, grey, and red. Also on offer is a dual-tone paint option of red and black.

On the inside, the theme continues with all-black upholstery and brass highlights. New additions to the Venue are the dashcam and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The dashcam with a dual camera makes its appearance in the Venue once again, after being offered with the N-line version of the Venue. Another feature offered is an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition: engine and gearbox

The Knight Edition of the Hyundai Venue is offered only on the petrol powertrains, with the diesel engine missing out. The Knight edition is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox on the S(O) and SX variants of the 1.2-litre Kappa engine that produces 83hp and 114Nm.

The more powerful 1-litre turbo-petrol is also available with the Knight edition theme, in just the SX(O) variant, but with the choice of either the 6-speed manual or the 7-speed DCT.  The 1-litre unit produces 120hp and 172Nm.

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition: rivals and new generation

The Hyundai Venue is a compact SUV and it rivals the likes of the Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 300, Tata Nexon and the slightly larger Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Hyundai recently launched the adventure edition of the Alcazar and Creta SUVs. Along with the Venue, the Creta is also offered with the Knight edition package.

We recently reported that Hyundai will introduce the second-gen Venue in India in 2025 and it will be the first Hyundai to roll out from the recently acquired Talegaon plant where the carmaker plans to build around 1,50,000 units a year.
