SC e: concept borrows design inspiration from European EM 1e: scooter.

Honda has taken the wraps off the SC e: electric scooter concept at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show (also referred to as the Tokyo Motor Show).

The SC e: concept looks familiar to the EM 1e: e-scooter thats on sale in Europe. However, it looks to be a size bigger than the EM 1e:. Honda states that the SC e: concept features two removable battery packs with a capacity of ‘approximately 1.3kWh’ each. This means that the SC e: concept has a total capacity in the ballpark of 2.6kWh.

No further mechanical details have been revealed but we can see that the SC e: gets basic underpinnings such as a telescopic fork/monoshock and a disc brake/drum brake setup. Wheels at both ends appear to be of the same size, presumably 12-inch units.

There has been no indication of the SC e: concept spawning a series production model but Honda states in its press release that it ‘will begin pursuing carbon neutrality of motorcycles starting from commuter category’.
