After the Activa duo, Honda is now bestowing the H-Smart technology on the popular Dio.
Honda first gave its bestselling Activa the H-Smart technology, followed by the larger Activa 125. Now, we can exclusively report that the sporty Dio is soon to follow in those footsteps as well.
- H-Smart will be range-topping Dio variant
- Most affordable H-Smart scooter when it goes on sale
Honda Dio H-Smart: what will change?
Much like it did to the Activa, the H-Smart variant will bring keyless functionality and alloy wheels to the Dio.
The SmartFind feature allows you to locate your vehicle by flashing all four indicators at the press of a button. The SmartStart feature allows you to start the scooter by just flipping the switch located where the key slot would be found normally.
The SmartUnlock feature allows you to unlock the handlebar, the fuel filler cap and the underseat storage unit with the use of the key fob. The SmartSafe feature shuts off the keyless functionality of the fob, thereby locking the vehicle and aiding safety.
Mechanically, not too much will change and the Dio will continue to be powered by the same air-cooled, 109cc, single-cylinder engine thats good for 7.8hp and 9Nm.
Currently, the Honda Dio is priced at Rs 68,625 for the standard variant and Rs 72,626 for the DLX variant. The H-Smart variant will command a small premium over the DLX variant as it does on the other two Honda scooters. When it does launch, the Dio H-Smart will be the most affordable scooter available with this keyless functionality.
