Hero MotoCorp has announced a revision in prices of select motorcycles and scooters, effective April1, 2023. The company says that the increase in prices of some of its two-wheelers will be done to offset the rise in costs on the back of the OBD-2 transition. The price revision will be around 2% and the specific amount of increase will vary on the basis of the models and markets.
OBD-2 emission norms will come into effect next month and manufacturers have had to make the necessary changes to their two-wheelers to adhere to them. This in turn has led to a slight inrease in costs that needs to be passed on to the customer. A few days ago, Suzuki and Yamaha introduced their range of OBD-2 compliant two-wheelers and they too have had to raise prices.
