This edition of Formula Bharat had over 50 teams, including participants from Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
The 2024 Edition of the Formula Bharat student competition was held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore from January 19 – 24. This was the eighth edition of the event and it featured teams from all over India and a few international entrants from Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. The event was split into two main categories, Combustion Vehicles (CV) and Electric Vehicles (EV).
Formula Bharat Rounds
While the event was held in the middle of January, work on the vehicles went on for almost a year. Judging is divided into two main parts, Static Events and Dynamic Events. Static events consist of Engineering design, cost and manufacturing and business plans while Dynamic events consist of on track action like the Skid pad, acceleration, autocross, endurance and efficiency events.

Formula Bharat Bangalore round
However, while the winners have been declared, the action hasn’t come to an end. The teams now head over to Bangalore on February 17-18 where they will take part in a track day organised just for them. The track day will take place at the Aruani Grid and is open to both CVs and EVs but what’s interesting is that it’s the first time that Formula Bharat is organising a Track Day and teams will not be subjected to the usual Formula Bharat tests, but will instead gain valuable on-track data of the vehicles.
