The starting price for the new Suzuki Swace hybrid estate will above that of the Toyota Corolla model it is based upon – with a list price of £27,499.
The Burnaston-built newcomer to the Suzuki brand’s range will be available with a 122PS 1.8 hybrid CVT drivetrain claiming a combined fuel consumption of 64.2mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
It is the second vehicle to be supplied to Suzuki by the manufacturer under a collaborative business agreement, following the unveiling of the new Rav4-based Across SUV.
The Across will be priced from £45,599, more than £15,000 mor ethan the entry-level Rav4.
The Swace will be available in SZ-T (£27,499) and SZ5 (£29,299) trim levels with Suzuki expecting to sell around 2,000 units in the UK in the first full year.
Standard equipment on SZ-T includes seven airbags, dual zone automatic air conditioning, seven-inch LCD colour display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, rear parking camera and dynamic radar cruise control.
SZ5 adds smart door locking, parking assist, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and centre console tray incorporating a wireless charger.
The Swace’s boot offers a luggage capacity of 596 litres, which increases to 1,606 if the rear seats are folded down.
