Charity walk for CALM in memory of late ATG and Nissan executive Mark Hamilton

A charity walk in memory of former ATG, Nissan, Audi and Mercedes-Benz executive Mark Hamilton will take place at the end of June.

The walk, at Windsor Great Park on June 30, will raise funds for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) anti-suicide charity.

The choice of date is significant as it would have been his 58th birthday.

During an automotive industry career spanning more than three decades Hamilton had held management roles with Citroen, Peugeot, Nissan, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Autovia and ATG (Automotive Transformation Group).

His friend Joanna Ahmet, who was a colleague of his while working at Audi UK, is one of the organisers and she said everyone is welcome to participate in his memory.

“We lost a very dear friend and ex-colleague in January this year. He was struggling with his mental health, and none of us, friends or family, realised just how much.

“From such a tragic situation, we wanted to do something positive in Mark’s memory, so we have decided as a team – colleagues and ex-colleagues – to do this walk and raise money and much needed awareness for men’s mental health,” she said on a JustGiving page set up ahead of the walk.

“Any and all donations, no matter how large or small, would be greatly received and sent directly to CALM in Mark’s name,” she said. Donations have already exceeded £250.

Friends and family raised the alarm after Hamilton went missing in Windsor in mid-January, leading to several public appeals by police.

Sadly his body was found by police some two weeks later.
