BYD delivers first Tang EV in Norway

The first of 100 EVs in the initial shipment is now with its new owner

The first of 100 BYD Tang EVs shipped from China to Norway in June has been delivered to its owner.

The Chinese EV and battery maker and Nowegian distributor RSA launched the new SUV in Oslo and handed over the first car.

BYD said it was “committed” to shipping 1,500 units to the country before the end of 2021. It is priced at NOK599,900 (US$67,400).

The vehicle has BYD’s 86.4kWh Blade Battery which charges from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes using a 110kW DC charger. Battery warranty is eight years/160,000km (100,000 miles).

BYD claims a class-leading range of 528km (WLTP City) and 400km (WLTP combined), and acceleration from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds.

The model has seven seats and a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, 12 speaker audio, 31-colour ambient lighting, ventilated leather seats with heating and position memory plus wireless phone charging.
