BSA Gold Star details, launch

Having been available in international markets for a while now, the BSA Gold Star is finally prepared to enter the Indian market. The motorcycle draws heavy visual inspiration from its predecessor, evident in elements such as the fuel tank design, curved fenders, side panels and an abundance of chrome detailing.

It is equipped with a 652cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that generates 45hp at 6500rpm and 55Nm at 4000rpm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The bike features a telescopic fork in the front, twin shock absorbers at the rear, and rides on wire-spoke wheels. Braking is managed by a single disc at both ends, with ABS as a standard feature.

Positioned as a direct rival to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, BSA sells the Gold Star for £6500 – £7000 in the UK, while the former is priced at £6400 – £6900. Remains to be seen what Classic Legends can price it in India given that it is locally made here and the 650 range starts at Rs 3.03 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
