BS6 Benelli TRK 502 to launch soon

0

The Benelli TRK 502 is set to join the Benelli Imperiale in the manufacturer’s BS6 line-up in India. These photos we’ve received show that the TRK 502 will also receive some new features, apart from the updated emission norm-compliant engine.

  • BS6 Benelli TRK 502 reaches dealerships

  • Will likely be priced around Rs 5.2-5.4 lakh

  • Gets updated instrument cluster, new switchgear

The TRK line-up for India comprises two models – the TRK 502 and the more off-road biased 502X. We’ve only gotten a look at the TRK 502, but it’s very likely these updates will make their way onto the 502X, as well.

Updated Benelli TRK 502 features

The most obvious change from these images is the updated instrument cluster. While it continues to be a digi-analogue unit and uses the same layout, the analogue tachometer and small digital display are now backlit. From the looks of it, there seems to be no difference in the amount of information that this display will be able to convey. While we’re on the subject, the switchgear has been updated as well and that too, is now backlit. The switches are different as well and appear notably more premium than the ones on the previous model.

Other changes are minor – the front mudguard now has a body-colour finish, rather than black like on the older model, the handguards are different, and the mirrors get a texture finish.

The rest of the bike, from the looks of it, remains largely unchanged.

Updated Benelli TRK 502 engine

The BS4 TRK 502 (both variants) were powered by a 499.6cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that was capable of 47.5hp at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. While the bike will feature the same engine, it remains to be seen if, or how much of a difference there will be in the peak output figure.

Updated Benelli TRK 502 price and launch

There is no official word on when the BS6 TRK 502 will launch, but dealerships we’ve spoken to have confirmed that they are expecting the bike to reach them in the next couple of weeks. They also believe that the bike will be priced around the Rs 5.3-5.4 lakh mark, which would make it around Rs 20,000-30,000 more expensive than the BS4 model that was priced at Rs 5.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
