BMW G 310 RR reaches 1000 deliveries milestone

The BMW G 310 RR sportbike has reached the 1000 deliveries milestone, 100 days since its launch on July 15. This latest launch from BMW is essentially a rebadged version of the TVS Apache RR310 (TVS and BMW have partnered to develop and manufacture this 312cc platform). Interestingly, the two identical twins have seen a very similar level of popularity since the BMW was introduced.

The 1000 deliveries in a 100 day period for the G 310 RR translate to (on average) 10 deliveries per day, or around 300 deliveries per month. In the months of July and August 2022, the TVS Apache RR310 managed domestic sales of 294 and 300 units respectively, meaning that the two bikes are pretty much on par.

This is despite the fact that the BMW is a good deal more expensive than the TVS, suggesting that the Bavarian giant's brand power is helping it overcome the price difference. However, it's worth noting that the Apache has managed to sustain its popularity across the half decade that it has been around, while the BMW is a much more recent entrant, and is enjoying the initial buzz that accompanies this status.

It will be interesting to see how this sales battle develops in the coming months. The initial buzz and excitement surrounding the BMW doesn't seem to have died down just yet, with the company claiming that it has received over 2,000 bookings for the bike in the recent festive season.
