The fundamental mechanicals seem to be in place, with the company now tweaking smaller aesthetic elements on the bike.
The upcoming Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle has been spotted testing once again, and there are many clues to indicate that the bike is closer to being finalised. We spotted the first bikes spawned by this partnership testing in February, and back then, there was a street naked as well as a scrambler-style model seen testing. This time around, the street naked has been spotted once again and there are some interesting new details on the motorcycle.

There are a number of elements that have remained the same since we last saw this bike in February. The entire powertrain appears to be externally the same, and there is no data-logging equipment seen anywhere on this latest test mule, and all this suggests that the single-cylinder engine and gearbox are pretty much in place for the new bike. That being said, this latest sighting contains two test mules: one with blacked-out cooling fins around the exhaust header, and the other with silver-finished units, suggesting that Triumph could still be making some small tweaks.
Exactly how much this engine will displace is still a mystery, but the radiator up front still looks just as massive (by middleweight standards) as it did in February, and the exhaust pipe diameter seems rather meaty too, suggesting that we could be looking at something around the 500cc mark.
The chassis also seems to be close to finalised, with the design of the front fork, swingarm, wheels and brakes all appearing very similar to earlier, though suspension internals could still be a work in progress.

Coming to the areas of difference, one of the most important elements that is new on the bike is the instrument cluster. In February, the test mule sported a rectangular, KTM-esque digital display, while the latest images show a more Triumph-appropriate, retro-looking round unit, with a smaller, square-ish appendage. The overall shape looks quite similar to the display you see on the Honda H’ness CB350.

There are a number of smaller visual tweaks across the motorcycle. The horn, which was earlier very visibly placed above the exhaust header, has now been tucked away more neatly inside the motorcycle, and the design of the rear grab rails has changed, too. The earlier bike had a split grab rail design and now we see a single-piece unit. This latest test mule also sports sleeker round indicators, in contrast to the earlier-seen oblong units, although these could be an accessory, rather than standard fitment.
The overall design, though, has remained pretty much the same, with the bodywork, headlight, tail-lamp and mirrors all looking pretty similar to earlier. The seat also seems to be largely unchanged, and all these factors point towards the fact that the fundamentals of the bike are predominantly in place and Triumph is in the fine-tuning phase of this product. What this means for you and me is that we should see an official unveiling sometime soon, possibly in the next few months, with EICMA in November coming up soon.
