The festive price has been on offer since August 1, and Bajaj simply says that it is “valid for a short period”.
Bajaj is offering a ‘festive price’ on its Chetak electric scooter, which now costs Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi/Bengaluru, after FAME-2 subsidy). After the recent cut in the FAME-2 subsidy, prices for the Chetak rose to Rs 1.44 lakh, meaning that this festive price is effectively a Rs 14,000 discount for the Chetak.
The offer is being made available across the nation, but there is no clarity on how long it will last. Bajaj simply says that it is “valid for a short period”. However, we have learned that this festive price has been in effect since August 1.
While once the most expensive e-scooter on the market, this recent price revision has actually made the Chetak quite an attractive proposition. The Ather 450X now starts at Rs 1.38 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.53 lakh if you opt for the Pro pack, while the Ola S1 Pro is now priced at Rs 1.47 lakh. Even the TVS iQube now starts at Rs 1.34 lakh, with its S variant costing Rs 1.40 lakh, and the Vida V1 Pro is priced at Rs 1.46 lakh. This makes the Chetak at its current price the most affordable of all the premium e-scooters on sale today.
