The prices of the Ather 450 Plus and 450X have reduced significantly thanks to the new subsidy offered in Maharashtra.

  • 450 Plus now costs Rs 1.03 lakh
  • 450X price reduced to Rs 1.22 lakh
  • Subsidy-aided reduction of around Rs 24,000

Ather Energy now has its 450 Plus and 450X listed on its website at Rs 1.03 lakh and Rs 1.22 lakh in Mumbai, Maharashtra. These prices are exclusive of insurance, road tax and registration charges, but include GST. According to Ather, this is a reduction of around Rs 24,000.

For reference, the upcoming Ola S1 and and S1 Pro have an ex-showroom, Mumbai price of Rs 95,000 and Rs 1.25 lakh respectively after the subsidy. The TVS iQube, meanwhile, isn’t available in Mumbai at the moment, but has an on-road price in Pune of Rs 1.11 lakh. Interestingly, at the new prices, the Ather 450 Plus now costs less than some 125cc scooters from Vespa and Aprilia.

However, it’s still quite a bit more expensive than 125cc scooters from brands like Honda, Suzuki, TVS and Yamaha. Ather is gearing up to launch a more affordable scooter based on its existing 450 platform, which will sit below the 450 Plus. The company is also said to be on track to expand its presence to 100 cities with a new product portfolio in the next two years. It also plans to add more safety features like crash detection and SOS, tow detection, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and remote diagnostics among others.
