The 200th Blue Square showroom was opened in Chennai.
Yamaha has opened the 200th Blue Square showroom in India, situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This comes just under a year after the company announced its plans to convert all its dealerships into Blue Square outlets. Furthermore, by the end of this year, there will be 300 Blue Square stores in India.
A Blue Square dealership in Yamaha-speak is a more premium dealership through which certain flagship models will be exclusively sold, official Yamaha apparel and accessories, as well as their other two-wheeled offerings. Currently, the Aerox 155 maxi-sport scooter is the only Blue Square exclusive model in India. What is also only sold through Blue Square showrooms is official Yamaha merchandise as well as motorcycle maintainance products.
The company plans to have just one format of dealerships in the future, the Blue Square one, through which all its products will be sold. When Yamaha does launch its first EVs as well as its larger capacity, multi-cylidner models, they will all be retailed side-by-side alongside the existing lineup of small-capacity two-wheelers in Blue Square dealerships.
