Vertu Motors Mercedes Reading dealership welcomes Thai car retailers

A delegation of more than 30 car retailers from Thailand have paid a visit to Vertu Motors’ Mercedes-Benz Reading dealership to explore how it achieves top-rated customer service.

The AM100 car retail group said in a statement that its operation on Richfield Avenue, Reading, had been chosen to host the incentive trip because the service department consistently achieves some of the highest customer satisfaction scores in the country.

As well as discussing aftersales good practice, managing customer satisfaction and digital innovations with their UK counterparts during their UK visit, the Thai visitors also visited Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands, sampling its racing simulators and track driving experiences.

Vertu Motors Mercedes-Benz operations director Mark Gibbings said: “It was a pleasure to welcome colleagues from Mercedes-Benz retailers in Thailand and show off the fantastic Reading dealership.

“There was a mutual exchange of information and ways of working that I am certain will have benefitted both parties.”

Mercedes-Benz is set to be the first major European car manufacturer to build electric vehicles (EV) in Thailand.

Starting production in Southeast Asia’s largest auto manufacturing hub this year it will build its flagship electric EQS saloon in the country.

Vertu Motors completed the £5 million expansion and refurbishment of its Mercedes-Benz dealership in Reading back in 2020.

The work included the extension of the facility to accommodate 14 cars alongside the creation of a new service reception designed and refurbished to the latest Mercedes-Benz corporate identity (CI) standards.

More recently the group completed upgrades to its Mercedes dealership in Slough.
