Upcoming Hero Glamour XTEC details leaked

A leaked presentation has confirmed the existence of the upcoming Hero Glamour XTEC – a more upmarket version of the standard Glamour.

  • Will get fully-digital instrumentation and gear position indicator
  • 124.7cc engine is shared with the Glamour, produces10.7hp and 10.6Nm
  • Expected to be priced from Rs 76,000 onwards

Hero MotoCorp already has two 125cc commuters in its lineup, in the form of the Glamour and Super Splendor. But neither of them is quite upmarket enough to occupy the premium 125cc space and take on the likes of the Honda SP 125. To do this, Hero seems to be working on a new variant of its Glamour called the Glamour XTEC, which will get more premium features.

Hero Glamour XTEC features

A leaked presentation has given away the fact that it will get a fully-digital instrument console, unlike the semi-digital units on the standard Glamour and Super Splendor. Info on the readout includes a gear position indicator, digital tachometer and real-time fuel-consumption data. To help it take on the likes of the SP, we also expect the XTEC to feature an LED headlight, though this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Hero Glamour XTEC colours & expected price

The upcoming variant will be available in three colour schemes: Techno Black, Grey Blue and Grey Red, with the latter two being almost identical apart from a few highlights and stickers. Considering the extra equipment that it will carry over the standard Glamour, expect prices to start from around Rs 76,000. This would make it around Rs 3,000 more expensive than the Glamour.

The XTEC will share its fuel-injected 124.7cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor with Hero’s other 125cc models, and we expect it to produce the same 10.7hp and 10.6Nm as well. It will send its drive to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.
