Triumph Scrambler price, new 1200cc model, seat height, tubeless tyres

The new Scrambler 1200 X is Rs 1.10 lakh more expensive than the earlier XC model.

After revealing the revamped Scrambler 1200 lineup, Triumph has listed the more accessible 1200 X on its Indian website at Rs 11.83 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

  1. Has on cross-spoked rims that allow tubeless tyres
  2. 1200cc parallel-twin makes same 90hp, 110Nm as before

The big news here is that unlike the rather tall erstwhile Scrambler 1200 XC, the new Triumph Scrambler 1200 X is a much more accessible machine. With an 820mm seat height, which can be dropped further to 795mm with the optional low seat, the 1200 X should be a much more manageable machine for shorter riders.

Unlike the older XC which had adjustable suspension at both ends, the 1200 X’s suspension is only adjustable for preload at the rear. Braking hardware too is courtesy of axially mounted Nissin calipers on the X, not the superbike-spec M50s seen on the XC.

The liquid-cooled, 1,200cc, parallel-twin has been carried forward and it makes the same 90hp and 110Nm as before although peak power is made lower down while peak torque is made higher up in the rev band.

Five riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Off-road and Rider configurable) are on offer here and the X now gets IMU-enabled traction control and ABS. The round dash on the Scrambler 1200 X is very similar to the unit seen on Triumph’s 660cc models and the Street Triple R, and with the optional Bluetooth module, features such as turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts are enabled. In typical Triumph fashion, there are over 70 official accessories available ranging from aesthetic to functional.
