Brixton Motorcycles is an Austrian-owned brand with a British name whose motorcycles are manufactured in China. Brixton is owned by Austrian KSR Group that also owns motorcycles companies like Motron and Malaguti. Brixton motorcycles appear to be manufactured by a  Chinese company called Chongqing Gaokin Industries Co.

Known for its 125cc and 250cc motorcycles that are currently being sold in Europe and Asia. Brixton began selling motorcycles globally back in 2017 and now sees potential in the Indian market. Which is why they’ve now announced their entry into the Indian market and partnered with KAW Veloce Motors. This company currently takes care of sales, service, and spares for brands like Benelli, Keeway, Moto-Morini, and Zontes in South Maharashtra and North Karnataka regions.

  3. Plans to open a factory in Kolhapur, develop motorcycles for the Indian market.

The company says it is set to launch four models in India this year which will be developed at Brixton’s Austrian design centre with production taking place at a factory in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. It remains to be seen if this will be CKD assembly or full local production.

Brixton and KVMPL also state plans to set up a research and development centre in India with the aim to develop models specifically for the Indian market. Additionally, Brixton aims to build a dealer network across major Indian cities which involves opening 15 dealerships by the end of 2024 and hopes to expand to 50 by the end of 2025.

Internationally Brixton sells a host of retro themed motorcycles and up to 14 different models on sale out of which it remains to be seen which ones will make their way to India. A lot of these models have engines that share a close resemblance to what’s available from the likes of Triumph or Honda. Brixton offers motorcycles ranging from 125cc to 1,200cc in capacity.

The largest among those bikes is the Cromwell 1200 with a 1,222cc twin-cylinder motor that produces 83hp at 6,550 rpm and 108 Nm of torque at 3,100 rpm. This bike is sold as the GK1200 in China. The company also sells a 500cc motorcycle which produces figures very similar to what you’d find on a range of Benelli motorcycles of a similar capacity. Only time will tell how different these motorcycles or their motors will be compared to others of similar displacement sold under the KAW Veloce Motors umbrella.
