Three equipment grades (Pure, Motion and Vision) trim grades will be offered, alongside a special, high-specification Premiere Edition version to mark its debut.

Toyota confirmed that the Premiere Edition will only be available to customers via its online retail service, however.

Toyota claims that the bZ4X SUV will deliver a range of up to 280 miles from its 71.4kWh battery and be able to charge to 80% in half an hour using a 150kW charger.

A roof-mounted solar panel will provide additional charge to the battery.

There will be a choice of front- or all-wheel-drive with power outputs of 204PS and 217PS, respectively.

Standard on the Pure grade – offered only with front-wheel-drive – will be: 18-inch alloys; an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system and seven-inch digital instrument cluster; a reversing camera; keyless entry; and a climate control system which can be operated remotely via an app. Options include roof rails and a towing pack.

Toyota’s bZ4X Motion introduces a rear spoiler, powered boot lid and parking sensors along with heated front seats an ambient lighting system and a wireless charging tray.

Options include a panoramic roof, 20-inch alloys and an expanded Toyota T-Mate safety and driver assistance package.

Customers can also choose the bZ4X Motion drivetrain option with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. This includes Toyota’s new electric X-MODE system, which the brand claimed “gives bZ4X class-leading off-road driving capability”.

Vision grade bZ4Xs adds: 20-inch alloys; rear parking sensors with an auto-brake function; Remote Controlled Parking Assist; heated and ventilated front seats; and a heated steering wheel.

The Vision grade also comes with a digital key, allowing the vehicle owner to provide access to the vehicle to others by means of a smartphone app.

Premiere Edition models are based on the Vision grade, but feature a nine-speaker JBL premium sound system and the Skyview panoramic roof as standard.
