Tata Nexon price; Nexon Dark price, Nexon EV dark price, Harrier Dark, Safari Dark

Priced from Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh, the Nexon Dark and Nexon.ev Dark join the Harrier and Safari in getting the all-black versions.

While Tata Motors had introduced Dark Editions for the Harrier and Safari when their respective facelifts arrived in October last year, the Nexon and Nexon EV facelifts did not get this all-black variant. However, the Indian brand has now launched the Nexon Dark and Nexon EV Dark, with prices starting at Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh, respectively. This confirms our report from last month that the launch of the Nexon facelift Dark Edition was imminent.

  1. Nexon Dark costs about Rs 35,000 more than mid-spec Creative trim
  2. Nexon EV Dark priced about Rs 10,000 higher than top-spec Empowered + LR
  3. Harrier and Safari Dark prices start at same Rs 19.99 lakh and Rs 20.69 lakh

Tata Nexon Dark: what’s different

It seems like the Nexon Dark will be available on the mid-spec Creative trims and the top-spec Fearless variants, and cost about Rs 35,000 more than the model on which the Dark edition is based. As the name implies, the Nexon Dark gets the signature all-black treatment, inside and out. The features list will be identical to the variant on which the Dark edition is based, with Tata saying top-spec Nexon Dark trims getting wireless charging, a ‘hidden’ capacitive touch panel for the automatic climate control, black leatherette seats and more.

The Nexon Dark can be fitted with any one of the five engine and gearbox options – the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol gets 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed dual-clutch auto options, while the 1.5-litre diesel has 6-speed manual and AMT options.

Tata Nexon EV Dark: what’s different

Like its ICE counterpart, the Nexon.ev Dark is adorned in the distinctive all-black finish, on the inside and outside. However, unlike the Nexon Dark, the Nexon EV Dark seems to be based on the top-spec Empowered + LR, and as such is priced about Rs 10,000 higher. The Nexon.ev LR is powered by a 40.5kWh battery pack that has an ARAI range of 465km on a single charge, and comes with an electric motor making 145hp and 215Nm. Those who opt for the Nexon.ev MR, with its 30kWh battery, 325km of range, and 129hp motor, will not have the Dark option.

Tata Harrier, Safari Dark: what’s new

As mentioned above, Tata’s flagship SUVs came with Dark Editions at launch, though the interesting bit is that prices for the Harrier Dark and Safari Dark have not changed since their introductions four months ago. The Harrier Dark is still priced from Rs 19.99 lakh, while Safari Dark prices start at Rs 20.69 lakh.

Tata offers Dark editions for the Harrier with the mid-spec Pure, Adventure and top-spec Fearless trims, while the Safari has it with the mid-tier Pure, Adventure and top-spec Accomplished variants. Both SUVs share the 2.0-litre diesel engine and 6-speed manual and torque convertor automatic gearbox options.
