Tata Nexon facelift price, new interior images, expected features, launch timeline

The dashboard design will see a major revision along with a step-up in the equipment list.

The Tata Nexon facelift has been spotted several times, and as we’ve previously reported, the Nexon facelift will go on sale in August this year. And while all images so far have only given us a glimpse of the exterior design, we now have the first images of the interior of the Nexon facelift. Like the exterior, the interior of the updated Nexon will also borrow heavily from the Curvv concept. In fact, the spy images hint at a major overhaul of the interior with significant step-up in equipment levels and quality.

  1. Nexon facelift interior to be inspired by Curvv Concept
  2. Will get new two-spoke steering wheel, larger infotainment screen
  3. Nexon EV facelift will have slightly different design updates

Tata Nexon facelift interior spied

Spy images of the Nexon facelift interior reveal that the updates will be just as comprehensive as the exterior. The most prominent thing that’s visible is a new two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel that was seen on the Curvv concept. The steering houses a couple of toggle switches at either end along with several touch sensitive haptic buttons. The coolest thing about this steering wheel, at least in concept form, was a seamlessly integrated backlit Tata logo, although it remains to be seen whether it makes it to production or not.

What’s also partially visible is a redesigned centre console with a new touch panel and toggle switches for the HVAC control, which again, is a direct lift from the Curvv concept. Inevitably, Tata’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen will also be offered, and means that the entire dashboard will likely be redesigned. This also suggests that there could be a step-up in quality and equipment levels, with a new digital instrument cluster that’s currently seen on the new Harrier and Safari Red Dark editions.

What’s also clearly visible is the lower centre console area, which, however, remains largely unchanged. The drive mode selector has been carried over as is, there’s a slightly redesigned gear lever, while the manual handbrake and wireless charger have been retained. The spy images also preview a new purple upholstery for the seats.

Tata Nexon facelift expected to get updated powertrain

All Tata models, including the Nexon, were recently upgraded to meet BS 6 Phase-II norms. We are told that the Nexon facelift will get the all-new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that was previewed with the Curvv ICE concept. This new engine is good for 125hp and 225Nm, which is 5hp and 55Nm more than the current engine. The Nexon facelift will continue with the 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel as well. There is no clarity on the automatic gearbox choices for the Nexon facelift as of now.
